General rental conditions

This page contains our general rental conditions for renting a camper.

Rules of the game - agreement:

This agreement is binding for the renter, the lessor and those who represent him. The renter does not have the right to transfer this contract in whole or in part to third parties. The person who signs this agreement is and remains responsible at all times for the driving and use of the camper and the strict observance of these rental conditions.

Taking our vehicle into use implies the acceptance – without reservation – of our full rental conditions. If several tenants bind themselves together, they are jointly and severally liable for the full execution of the rental agreement. The tenant takes care of the rented camper as befits a good father.

The renter acknowledges having received the camper in good condition with all on-board documents and legal accessories (fire extinguisher, first aid kit, warning triangle and fluorescent vest).

Driving license and identity cards

The renter is solely responsible for the driving and use of the vehicle and its lack of maintenance during the rental period.

When concluding the agreement, the tenant must provide a copy of his passport and valid driving license B.

The driver must have held a valid driving licence in Belgium for at least 3 years and must not have been disqualified from driving in the last 5 years. The driver must also be at least 25 years old.

The renter must bear all (administrative) fines resulting from the driving and use of the vehicle as well as all administrative expenses. The renter also undertakes to comply with all legal and regulatory provisions, in particular the Highway Code.

The renter is responsible for any excess of the MTG (maximum permitted weight, see COC) and any fines or consequences associated with this.

Rental price

The tenant declares that they have taken note of the rates applicable on the date of signing the rental agreement.

They declare to accept these.

The rental price includes:

  • The provision of the camper with accessories (as described in the attached inventory list) during the rental period.

  • Comprehensive insurance with an excess of €1400 (deposit).

  • Technical assistance and roadside assistance for the vehicle.

  • All equipment as indicated in the detailed sheets of the camper.

The rental price does NOT include:

  • The costs of repairing the engine and mechanical parts due to misuse or neglect of defects that occurred on the way.

  • Additional kilometers driven: 240 km/day included, extra km supplement: €0.25/km.

  • The consumption of motor fuel, water, gas above the included amount.

  • Fines on the way.

  • The deposit.

Reservation and payment

The reservation is only final after receipt of an advance payment of 50% of the total rental price, to be paid within 8 days after signing the rental agreement.

Payment is made in cash or by bank transfer. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 3 weeks before the start of the rental period.
Failing this, the landlord has the right to re-let the reserved period, without this giving any right to a refund of the advance payment to the tenant.

Insurances

The rented camper is covered by a full-omnium insurance. Full omnium includes the coverages own damage, fire, theft, and glass breakage.

There is an excess of €1,400 for own damage (= the deposit).

Travel assistance is also provided in the event of an accident or breakdown.

Guarantee

A deposit of €1,400 will be transferred to Yankho's account no later than 7 days before departure. This is also the deductible per damage or theft.

The deposit will be refunded to the tenant's account no later than 2 weeks after the vehicle has been returned in the same condition, if applicable after deduction of the tenant's obligations arising from this contract.

Fines incurred during the rental period must be paid by the tenant. These will also be deducted from the deposit.

In the event of damage, this will be described and photographed when the camper is returned.


This statement must be signed by the tenant for recognition and this must be done under
subject to any subsequently noticed, hidden and/or visible damage and/or defects.

Usage

  • Smoking in the vehicle (both in the living area and in the driver's area) is prohibited.

  • Pets are not allowed.

  • For hygienic reasons, the use of the supplied mattress protectors on the beds is mandatory.

  • The use of a deep fryer, fondue set, candles, etc. is prohibited

These points may lead to the withdrawal of the guarantee.
It is also prohibited to use the vehicle to attend music festivals, football matches and other risky activities.

The camper is also not rented out for winter sports.

Accidents, damage, violations

In the event of an accident, damage or breakdown (however minor), the renter undertakes to notify Yankho on number (+32) (0)475/56 81 04 (available 24/7).


Spontaneous reporting of damage upon arrival is mandatory. The tenant is liable for any lack or delay in this reporting obligation.

The renter undertakes to carefully fill out a European accident report form in the event of a traffic accident. And to have it signed by both parties. Damage that would not be settled by the insurance company, due to not or incorrectly filling out the accident report form, will be recoverable from the renter.


Any repairs must be carried out at an officially recognised Volkswagen agency.


The tenant releases Yankho from any liability and compensation in the event of technical defect and for all adverse consequences, physical injuries, etc. that may arise from any defect and/or accident, whatever the cause of the accident or damage.

Pick up and return of the camper

Upon departure, the lessor and the tenant will draw up a statement of findings and inventory of the vehicle and its contents. This statement will be signed by both parties and attached to the agreement.


When returning the vehicle, a statement of findings and inventory of the vehicle and its contents will be drawn up again together with the tenant. Any damage to the vehicle, interior and/or contents will be charged to the tenant on the basis of the price quote via the
guarantee, at the current rates of an approved repairer or in the event of missing or damaged furnishings, at the current rates.

The camper is delivered to the renter in perfect condition as regards the bodywork, engine, mechanical parts, interior and upholstery, without any externally visible damage, with the exception of any damage that will be noted on the state of repair.

The diesel tank must be completely full upon return.

It is forbidden to clean the camper with corrosive products.

The waste water tank must be empty upon return, and the toilet tank (optional) must also be emptied and cleaned.

The water tank must be refilled upon return as it was upon departure.

The camper must be returned cleaned inside. If this is not the case, additional costs will be charged.


Collection and return takes place on the date and time stated in the agreement, after consultation with the lessor.

Force majeur

If the vehicle is not available on the agreed date due to force majeure (accident, theft, etc.), the deposit will be refunded as well as any balance paid. However, the lessor is not liable for any other costs.

Cancellation Policy

Unfortunately, it sometimes happens that (due to circumstances) you are unable to travel.

In case of cancellation the tenant is liable for the following costs:
